My family members and I went to visit the local library today, this Saturday. Despite it being the weekend, it was mostly empty, except for a few other people at tables reading. We went up to the third floor and were going through a proper maze of bookshelves when, while walking by, I noticed a book which mentioned the grace of God. “What a truthful phrase”, I thought to myself, and it is true.
2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Ephesians 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift
Many people have different definitions of grace, but what I define it as is “the willingness to grant favors”. Despite all of us being sinners, God has granted us the opportunity to go back into His favour by believing with faith alone in His Son, Jesus Christ, who’s holy blood from the cross acts as cover for all of our sins.
Someone may give you a favor by helping clean out the garage in the summer, as some of my family helped me with. But no favor compares to this ultimate favor given by God!
Psalms 5:12 Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Psalms 30:5 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
I noticed that book out of all the rest because the phrase mentioning “the grace of God” happens to appear in one particular Bible verse that I like a lot.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
